Amazigh: portraits with no camera.

AI portraiture that asks one question: can you tell the difference? The answer, as it turns out, is no.

The experiment

How far can AI photography go when the subject demands reverence?

This wasn't a client project. No brief, no budget, no deadline — just a question I needed to answer for myself.

I chose Amazigh cultural heritage, one of the most visually rich and historically layered traditions in North Africa, because it deserved the same care a professional photographer would bring. No shortcuts. No compromises.

The goal wasn't to imitate photography. It was to make something indistinguishable from it.

The details in the silver jewellery, the texture of the fabric, light hitting a face the way it only does in the right moment — all of it rendered with a precision that makes you look twice.

The work

Four portraits. Zero camera.
